BioHOME Foam

2002 was a great year in the advancement of Project BioHome. After almost 3 years of research and development the right components have come together. The foundation and geodesic framework was ready but there were still floors, water windows, doors, and the convection air system had to be installed before BioHome could be foamed.

Months of advance preparation went into every aspect of design and construction. A specialized 'A' team was created for the application technique of a very special foam. I needed a foam that I could spray in cold weather. Gary Holstrom of North Carolina Foaming Industries came up with the perfect solution: NCFI 3lb high density polyurethane foam (also known as BioHome foam).

We selected this particular foam because of its lasting properties. The BioHome Foam will never sag or settle (unlike drywall and insulation). It also resists molds, mildews, and bacteria. Imagine how healthy of an environment one can have with nothing growing in the walls!

Larry Lewczyk and Dana Cooper, owners of "Above It All Roofing" applied the new cold weather foam developed by NCFI. The inside walls came out smooth yet still retained the cave wall look I wanted.

Here's how it works:
As a HOME/OWNER BUILDER, you do the labor. You order the size dome framework and water windows from this website. You will need to hire a cement contractor to pour your foundation. There are many off the shelf solar, wind, hydroelectric power sources for you to choose from. We will add alternative energy components such as these to our website as we test them. You have to meet any building codes in you area, or build where there are no building codes. We offer technical advice to aid your building process.

The water window at night under a full moon (right) was enough light to luminate the BioHome interior.

We now have formed the A team which can travel anywhere in the world to apply NCFI's 368 2lb foam, using the special application perfected at BioHome.

A private party in the midwest has just started construction of their BioHome using 3 connected domes. (a 36', a 24', and a 20') Let us get you started too!

For a fraction of the cost it takes to build a conventional home, you can have a BioHome that has an insulation R rating from 80 to 100. You can build where ever you like and never pay a power, water, or gas bill again. Dome structures are earth friendly and have even been known to survive tornados. It's perfect structure for all climates, and it's the perfect time for you to consider owning your own BioHome.

If you can build a model airplane, you can build your own BioHome. And with every BioHome kit sold, you will receive 1 FREE HOUR consultation to get your project started!
